§ 1 · For doctoral students
When feedback is weeks away, you still need to decide what to revise, test, or read next.
Dissertation Coach asks focused questions, checks the links between your problem, purpose, research questions, and design, and turns uncertainty into a concrete next action. You remain the author. Your committee remains the authority.
Product proof · No borrowed praise
We do not publish private feedback or unattributed testimonials. The coaching turn below shows the behavior you can expect, and the trial lets you test it on your own work.
Trying the beta? Send candid feedback to support@dissertationcoach.com. With your explicit permission, public feedback may help future students evaluate the product.
§ 2 · A coaching turn
The platform runs on questions that push your reasoning. Below is one turn — the entire product is variations on this exchange, tuned to the stage you're in.
Before we refine sampling: how does this design directly answer your central research question — and what would falsify your core claim?
I hadn’t articulated falsification. I’m using a convergent mixed methods design because — actually, that’s the assumption you’re pushing on. Let me try again.
Advisory-only. Not a paragraph to paste. Not a ghostwritten draft. A question that surfaces the assumption before the committee does.
§ 3 · Why this exists
Any general AI can produce a chapter in minutes. Submitting it is academic misconduct — and you know it. Dissertation Coach is built to strengthen your thinking, not replace it. We surface misalignments before your committee does, push you to defend your reasoning, and keep your scholarly voice intact throughout.
| Typical writing AI | Dissertation Coach |
|---|---|
Generates chapters on demand | Questions that sharpen claims and assumptions |
Rewrites or paraphrases for submission | Alignment across problem, purpose, and RQs |
Implied topic or originality approval | Pointers to methods and literature — not finished prose |
No committee-aware guardrails | Designed so chairs stay authoritative |
§ 4 · By stage
Agents and workflows map to doctoral milestones — not generic essay help — whether you are on a traditional dissertation or a doctoral project with equivalent rigor. If progress has stalled, start with practical ways to move your dissertation forward when you feel stuck.
| Phase | What you're doing | How we help |
|---|---|---|
| Topic & proposal | Clarify gap, problem, purpose, and RQs before you over-invest. | Research gap, alignment checks, early methodology fit. |
| Literature review | Move from summaries to synthesis and theory–variable alignment. | Literature review coach, argument structure, source quality and citation hygiene. |
| Methods & design | Match design to questions and surface validity concerns early. | Methodology advisor, validity and trustworthiness coaching. |
| Data & analysis | Stay coherent as instruments, samples, and analysis plans evolve. | Alignment coaching, productivity and timeline nudges. |
| Findings through defense | Tighten story arc, implications, and defense-ready framing. | Writing coach, motivation, milestone and submission workflow. |

§ 5 · For students
Know the next action, catch alignment gaps before your committee, and maintain momentum without handing authorship to an AI. Learn how to align your problem, purpose, and research questions before your next review.
§ 6 · How it works
Share your stage, field, and immediate goal so coaching starts with the decision or draft you actually need to move.
Answer focused questions that test your reasoning, expose assumptions, and clarify what needs attention next.
Trace the problem, purpose, research questions, and design together so gaps are visible before your committee meeting.
Turn the coaching exchange into a concrete milestone or revision step, then return when the work changes.
§ 7 · Boundaries we enforce on purpose
These limits protect you, your committee, and your institution. Our guide to using AI in dissertation work with academic integrity explains the reasoning behind them.
Designed for coaching, not ghostwriting
The agents are instructed to question, diagnose, and guide—not produce ready-to-submit dissertation prose. You author and review the work.
No ghostwriting or evasion rewrites
We do not produce alternate drafts to slip past originality or AI-use policies.
No committee substitution
We do not “approve” topics or claim originality. Chairs and committees retain decisions.
What you should expect
§ 8 · Supporting the wider doctoral workflow
This homepage is for individual doctoral students. Chair and program capabilities remain available on dedicated pages.

Pilot-friendly story: integrity guardrails, analytics, and scalable doctoral support.
§ 9 · Frequently asked
What doctoral students ask before trying the product.
Your chair and authorized program administrators can see interactions that your workflow routes to them—this is how the platform supports oversight and feedback. Do not paste highly sensitive personal data you would not share with your committee. For institution-specific rules, ask your doctoral office.
No. You can start with a student account and trial access. Chair-linked features (stage locks, submission review, visibility) activate when your chair accepts an invite or your program connects accounts. Until then, coaching still respects advisory-only boundaries.
Requirements depend on your institution’s agreements and how data is classified. Dissertation Coach is built with audit trails and role-based access for doctoral workflows. Programs evaluating adoption should involve their registrar or compliance office—we’re happy to answer technical questions via the contact page.
You can export or retain copies of work you uploaded according to in-product options and your institution’s policy. We retain billing and security logs as required by law. For deletion requests, email support from the address on the contact page.
No. The product is intentionally advisory: questions, alignment checks, structure coaching, and pointers. It will not produce ready-to-submit prose, ghostwrite, or paraphrase to evade detection.
General tools optimize for fluent answers. Dissertation Coach is tuned for doctoral rigor: stage-aware agents, chair guardrails, explainable suggestions, and an integrity-first stance so you strengthen your argument—not outsource it.
No. The seven-day trial starts with just your email — no credit card required. Because there's no card on file, you can't be charged by accident and there's nothing to remember to cancel. If the coaching helps, you add billing at the end of the week; if not, the trial simply ends.
